As a small business which designs and makes (here in the UK) only what we need to meet customer orders (and to avoid waste), we do not partake in Black Friday (nor Cyber Monday). Instead, we like to celebrate the beautiful blackbird on Blackbird Friday!
Our name "A Blackbird Sang" is taken from a line in Adlestrop, a poem by Edward Thomas:
"And for that minute a blackbird sang
Close by, and round him, mistier
Farther and farther, all the birds
Of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire"
And we feature the Blackbird throughout many of our designs. The most popular being the "And for that minute..." Leaf Quote and our Blackbird with worm silhouette. Blackbird Friday is all about the blackbird for us!
