2023… What a busy year!

We traditionally take some time in January (and February) to take a look back at the year prior, whilst making plans for the year ahead. It’s also the time of year we work on bespoke commissions before the busy show season commences again.

2023… What a busy year!

Thank you to everyone who has been in touch throughout the year to say they’ve spotted our work in a National Trust shop. A selection of our designs is now available in over 100 National Trust shops and on their online store.

We were also delighted to start working with the Society of Antiquaries of London who own and manage Kelmscott Manor, the former Cotswolds retreat of William Morris. Our two new William Morris Leaf Quotes have proved really popular throughout 2023 and we look forward to expanding our William Morris inspired designs.

Those of you that have also visited Westonbirt, The National Arboretum may also have seen our Leaf Quotes in the shop there. We’re already thinking about further ways we can support the work of Forestry England – perhaps with an autumnal competition?

Whilst we have been setting up these new relationships we’ve also been busy with our own projects and events.

Tony created and launched ‘River with Kath Fotheringham, the first A Blackbird Sang book featuring Kath’s beautiful charcoal drawings alongside Tony’s poetry and explorations of dialect names for nature. We also launched our new Homewares collection with our Tea Towels selling out at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Also in May 2023, Genny graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a MSc in Conservation Ecology! In July we celebrated being awarded our first ever 4 Star Tradestand Award from the RHS at the Tatton Park Flower Show.

In August our Goldfinch on Teasel was featured in the September 2023 edition of Country Living magazine. And to round off the year we undertook our busiest ever Christmas events schedule, attending not 1 but 6 Christmas fairs! This was a fantastic opportunity to meet new customers and explore new venues, including the beautiful Chatsworth Estate.
